The second annual Krampus Parade returned to San Antonio on Friday December 5, looping through the King William Historic District with an expanded route and a larger turnout than the inaugural year - almost 300 marchers! The procession centered on the Beethoven Männerchor as both start and end point and featured elaborate folkloric pageantry rooted in German tradition. Thousands of spectators of all ages lined the streets, some say double the previous year, many dressed in festive costumes. The parade kicked off an entire weekend of Gemütlichkeit in the King William neighborhood - continuing the next day with the annual Kristkindlmarkt and the beloved King William Holiday Home Tour, filling the neighborhood with German-inspired holiday warmth, music, and tradition.
